Women's Track Takes First in Two Races at Hillsdale Invitational

The Hope College women's track and field team delivered a strong showing in the distance events at the GINA Relays, hosted by Hillsdale College, on Friday and Saturday, including multiple event wins and top-eight finishes.

Sophomore Erin Stuk (Pinckney, Michigan / Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard) led a dominant performance in the 800 meters, winning the event in 2:22.14.

Freshman Savannah Jackson (Saint Charles, Illinois / Saint Charles East) followed in second at 2:22.54, while sophomore Lily Sackrider (St. Johns, Michigan / St. Johns) placed third in 2:24.86 to complete the Hope sweep of the top three spots.

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior Molly Durow (Glenview, Illinois / Glenbrook South) recorded a runner-up finish in the championship steeplechase with a time of 11:02.06, a mark that ranks No. 15 in NCAA Division III. Sophomore Tessa Rindfliesch (Holland, Michigan / Zeeland West) placed seventh in 11:34.94, ranking No. 71 nationally.

In another steeplechase division, freshman Naomi Diekman (Grandville, Michigan / Jenison) added a first-place finish, crossing in 11:47.83, while freshman Chloe Caufield (Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan / Grosse Pointe South) took third in 12:18.51.

Junior Amanda Markham (Hoffman Estates, Illinois / William Fremd) finished seventh in the championship 800 meters with a time of 2:17.65.

Freshman Dylan Ballin (Brookville, Ohio / Brookville) added a seventh-place finish in the 5,000 meters, crossing in 17:48.28, while junior Elise Bodary (New Boston, Michigan / Father Gabriel Richard) placed eighth in the open section in 19:09.10.

Sophomore Nidia Martinez (Fennville, Michigan / Fennville) recorded a sixth-place finish in the 10,000 meters with a time of 40:29.38.

Hope will compete next on Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m. at Calvin University.
