The Hope College men's lacrosse team swept MIAA Athlete of the Week honors, with senior goalie Jack Balmforth, junior attacker Gibson Heethuis, and sophomore long-stick midfielder Tyler Berens claiming accolades.

All three excelled on the field and helped the Flying Dutchmen defeat Albion College and Calvin University last week to clinch a share of a third consecutive MIAA regular-season championship for the first time in program history.

Balmforth is the MIAA Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and the fourth time in his career. The business major from Livonia, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central) totaled 25 saves over two games, posting a .611 save percentage and being instrumental in transition with his clearing passes. 

Heethuis is the MIAA Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season and the sixth time in his career. The biology major from Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville) contributed 19 points on 10 goals and nine assists while shooting .600 from the field. Heethuis also contributed four caused turnovers in the ride, fueling the transition offense and quarterbacking the settled attack. He became the first in program history to post 100 points in a season and record 50 assists in a season.

Berens is the MIAA Men's Lacrosse Specialist of the Week for the second time this season and his career. The defender from West Olive, Michigan (West Ottawa) proved to be a disruptive force across the field, totaling nine caused turnovers and 10 ground balls while locking down opposing teams' top offensive midfielders. Berens also contributed in transition with two assists and created opportunities by setting effective picks.
