Men's Track and Field Sets 12 Personal Bests at Troy Invitational

The Hope College men's track and field team competed at the Troy University Don University Invitational and posted 12 personal-best efforts on Saturday in Alabama.

In the 200 meters, junior Dylan Terpstra (Hudsonville, Mich. / Hudsonville) clocked a fourth-place and personal run of 21.66 seconds. Freshman Maurice Streeter (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Kalamazoo Central) took 10th with a personal-best 22.06.

In the 100 meters, Streeter ran a sixth-place, personal-best time of 10.78 seconds. Terpstra finished eighth with a personal-best 10.83.

In the decathlon, freshman Lincoln Phillips of Dorr, Mich. (Hamilton) led the Flying Dutchmen with a total of 5,922 points.

Freshman Madden Valentine of Archbold, Ohio (Archbold), finished eighth with 5,174 points. Freshman Josh Bruxvoort (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) was ninth with 5,138 points.

Phillips recorded personal bests in the 100m at 11.59 seconds, 110 hurdles at 15.13 seconds, 400 meters at 51.79, and javelin at 43.80 meters (143 feet, 8 inches).

Valentine posted personal bests in the 100 meters at 12.04, the discus throw at 30.92m (101-5), the long jump at 5.40m (17-8 ¾), and the pole vault at 3.302m (10-10).

Hope's next meet is the University of Wisconsin-Platteville 5K Invitational on Friday, April 10, at 4:30 p.m. Central.
