The Hope College men's golf team is 18 holes away from back-to-back Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championships.
The Flying Dutchmen will take a 10-shot lead into next week's league finale after shooting a second-place score of 294 during Thursday's 18-hole event at Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive.
Hope finished one stroke behind Trine but kept its lead over the Thunder in the overall standings after seven events.
Sophomore Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central HS), tied with two other golfers for medalist honors to lead the Flying Dutchmen. He shot a 1-under-par 70.

Senior Ben Lanting of Littleton, Colorado (Front Range Christian HS), came in at even-par for fourth place.
Senior Collin Breit of Muskegon, Michigan (Western Michigan Christian HS), tied for 14th with a 76.
Senior Ben Lewis of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), tied for 19th with a 77 to round out Hope's scoring.
Senior Evan Telzerow of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Northern HS), tied for 22nd with a 78.
Hope finished eight strokes of third-place Calvin (302). The rest of Thursday's standings featured Kalamazoo (306), Adrian (307), Albion (315), Olivet (317) and Alma (364).
The final MIAA Jamboree is Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. The top four teams advance to this spring's NCAA Division III Championships qualifier. The regular-season champion will host the final two rounds in the 54-hole event, while the league runner-up will host the first round.
