Hope Volleyball's Jenna Grasmeyer Named Division III Academic All-American

Hope College national champion volleyball player Jenna Grasmeyer has been selected one of 18 NCAA Division III Academic All-Americans by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The senior from Jenison, Michigan (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS), is one of six second-team honorees on the 2014 CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-America Volleyball Team. There are first, second and third teams with six honorees apiece.

Grasmeyer is an exercise science major. She carries a 3.73 grade point average.

Grasmeyer is Hope's second CoSIDA Academic All-American this school year. Football player and senior Kirby Crook of Beech Grove, Indiana (Beech Grove HS), was announced as one of 25 first-team honorees earlier this month.

Grasmeyer led Hope to its first volleyball national championship and a school-record 34-2 record last month while being named the Division III Championships Most Outstanding Player. She concluded her playing career as the Flying Dutch's all-time leader in kills and points as well as the only three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American in team history.

Grasmeyer averaged a team-high 3.93 kills per set this season. She had a .299 hitting percentage.

The Capital One Division III Academic All-America ® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2013-14 Division III Academic All-America ® teams program.

All 18 of the volleyball honorees had GPAs of 3.7 or higher.
