The Hope College softball team has announced its team awards for the 2014 season.
First baseman Peyton Wells of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford HS) was chosen Team MVP. Wells, pictured, batted .322 while leading coach Mary VandeHoef's Flying Dutch with five home runs and 31 RBIs.
Infielder Natalie Leahy of Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton North HS) claimed the Heart of the Team award.
Catcher Adalee Robertson of Flushing, Michigan (Flushing HS) earn the Most Improved Award.
Hope also elected captains for the 2015 season — Wells, infielder Kelsey Cooper of Romeo, Michigan (Romeo HS), pitcher/infielder Natalie Hiser of Westland, Michigan (Livonia Churchill HS), and utility player Becca Phillips of Wayland, Michigan (Wayland HS).
