Sophomore Gunnar Elder of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), scored twice to lead the Hope College men's lacrosse team Saturday during a 17-5 loss to unbeaten Carthage, Wisconsin.

The Flying Dutchmen are now 2-4 on the season.

Carthage (8-0) pulled away from Hope after leading by just one goal at the end of the first period at 4-3.

Freshman Mike Odea of Naples, Florida (Barron Collier HS), junior Parker Osterink of Longwood, Florida (Seminole HS), and sophomore Zach Weber of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Pioneer HS), also scored for Hope.

The Flying Dutchmen return to action on Wednesday when they host DePauw, Indiana, at Van Andel Stadium. Start time is 7 p.m.
