The historic Hope College men's lacrosse team excelled in the classroom as well as on the field.

The NCAA quarterfinalist Flying Dutchmen claimed the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Team Academic Award for the 2026 season.

Founded in 1885, the USILA is an association of Institutions with varsity lacrosse programs in all three NCAA divisions.

The Flying Dutchmen finished with the season with a 20-1 overall record after becoming the first MIAA team to reach the national quarterfinals in the NCAA Division III Tournament. 

Led by head coach Michael Schanhals also swept MIAA regular-season and tournament championships for the third team in program history.
