Hope Women's Tennis 22nd in Division III Poll, Has Region's Top Doubles Team

The Hope College women's tennis team has moved up three spots to No. 22 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division III poll.

In the Central Region rankings, coach Adam Ford's Flying Dutch moved up five spots to fourth. They trail Washington University in St. Louis, DePauw, Indiana and Chicago.

Hope is 8-1 on the season, including an 8-0 mark against NCAA Division III opponents.

Individually, the Flying Dutch have two singles flights and one doubles team ranked in the region as well.

Senior Carli Capestany of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS), and sophomore Nancy Benda of Birmingham, Michigan (Seaholm HS), are the top-ranked doubles team in the Central Region.

Benda also is ranked eighth in singles in the region.

Junior Claire Cooper of Williamston, Michigan (Williamston HS), is ranked 14th in the region.

Hope returns to action this weekend with two matches in Ohio. The Flying Dutch will play at Denison on Friday and Case Western Reserve on Saturday.
