Sophomore Gunnar Elder of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), and freshman Grant Brogan of East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS), each netted three goals for the Hope College men's lacrosse team during a 15-11 loss to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday.

The Flying Dutchmen made a furious second-half comeback, scoring nine times to close within three goals with 6 ½ minutes remaining in the fourth period.

Elder leads Hope (2-6 overall) with 18 goals and 27 points this season. 

Junior Parker Osterink of Longwood, Florida (Seminole HS), and freshman Mike Odea of Naples, Florida (Barron Collier HS), chipped in two goals apiece against Illinois Wesleyan (6-4).

The Flying Dutchmen return to action on Wednesday when they host Defiance, Ohio for a 7 p.m. nonleague match at Van Andel Stadium.
