Sophomore Gunnar Elder of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), scored three times to lead the Hope College men's lacrosse team during an 18-6 loss to Adrian on Saturday at Van Andel Stadium.

Freshman Grant Brogan of East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS), chipped in two goals for the Flying Dutchmen.

Hope dropped to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in MIAA play.

Adrian (8-4, 2-1 MIAA) never trailed after scoring the match's first four goals.

Junior Sam Hansel of Wheaton, Illinois (Glenbard West HS), also scored for Hope.

The Flying Dutchmen return to action on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Olivet.
