Junior Gunnar Elder of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) scored six goals for the Hope College men's lacrosse team in a 24-12 loss at Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday.

The Flying Dutchmen return to action on Thursday, March 20 with the 2016 home opener against Hiram, Ohio. Start time is 6 p.m. at Van Andel Stadium.

Junior attack Zach Weber chipped in two goals during the nonleague match for Hope (0-3).

Senior Taylor Dever of North Barrington, Illinois (Lake Zurich HS), senior Parker Osterink of Longwood, Florida (Seminole HS), sophomore Grant Brogan of East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS) and sophomore Mike Odea of Naples, Florida (Barron Collier HS) each had one goal apiece.
