Women's Tennis Falls 5-4 To Babson

The 36th-ranked Hope College women's tennis team was edged 5-4 by Babson (Massachusetts) on Wednesday at the United States Tennis Association National Campus in Orlando, Florida.

The Flying Dutch earned points from three singles matches and one doubles match.

At No. 1 singles, sophomore Amanda Bandrowski of Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis HS) outlasted Alexa Tutecky 5-7, 3-6, 10-6.

At No. 2 singles, sophomore Claire Hallock of Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center) beat Carolina Merz 6-1, 6-4.

At No. 4 singles, junior Natalie Rahrig of Fort Wayne, Indiana (Bishop Luers) topped Marissa Madison 6-1, 6-7 (4), 10-6.

At No. 2 doubles, Bandrowski teamed with freshman Bailey Chorney of Waunakee, Wisconsin (Waunakee) for a 9-8 (4) victory against Claire Foster and Kylie Kam.

The Flying Dutch were edged in three sets in two other singles matches.
