The Hope College men's lacrosse team had plenty of fun on a snowy afternoon in Indiana.
Playing for the first time since March 14, the Flying Dutchmen earned their sixth consecutive victory with a 16-4 win at Wabash (Indiana) on Saturday.
The field was cleared before the match following a snowstorm that left five inches on the ground. Another inch fell during the nonleague match.
Sophomore Rocco Mularoni of Hartland, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central HS) topped Hope (6-1 overall) with five goals and one assist. He scored three times in the first period as the Flying Dutchmen raced out to a 6-0 lead.
Mularoni has 31 goals on the season — already the 10th most in Hope's six-year varsity history.
Two Flying Dutchmen chipped in three goals and one assist apiece: sophomores Gino Battaglia of Dayton, Ohio (Lebanon), pictured, and Max Kuiper of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central).
The four goals are the fewest allowed by Hope in a match this season.
