Women's Tennis Wins At Albion, Stays Unbeaten In MIAA Play

Box Score

The Hope College women's tennis team downed Albion College 9-0 on Tuesday and set up a first-place showdown in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association later this week.

The Flying Dutch improved to 6-0 in MIAA play and 9-8 overall with the road victory.

Hope will host Saint Mary's — which owns a 4-0 MIAA record - on Saturday at DeWitt Tennis Center.

Against Albion, the Flying Dutch took five singles flights and two doubles flights without dropping a game.

Four singles players all remained undefeated in MIAA matches with their sixth league wins - sophomore Amanda Bandrowski of Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis HS) at No. 1, sophomore Claire Hallock of Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center) at No. 2, senior Natalie Rahrig of Fort Wayne, Indiana (Bishop Luers) at No. 4, and sophomore Liz Pniewski of Lowell, Michigan (Grand Rapids Catholic Central) at No. 6.

All three of Hope's doubles pairings also stayed unbeaten in MIAA play: Hallock and junior Taylor LaBarge of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville) at No. 1, Bandrowski and freshman Bailey Chorney of Waunakee, Wisconsin (Waunakee) at No. 2, and Rahrig and junior Erin LaBarge of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville) at No. 3.
