Indoor Men's Track & Field Races To School Record In Distance Medley Relay

The Hope College men's indoor track & field team set a school record in the distance medley at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet on Saturday in Allendale.

Freshman Nick Hoffman of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS), junior Brenden Jones of Holland, Michigan (Black River), senior Collin Thomas of Novi, Michigan (Novi) and sophomore Zackary Murphy of Coldwater, Michigan (Coldwater) clocked an adjusted time of 10 minutes, 26.67 seconds.

The Flying Dutchmen eclipsed the previous record of 10:28.24 held since 2017 by Cameron Jones, Brandon Wolliston, Peter Timperman, and Benjamin Pederson.

Hope finished 18th in the race that featured NCAA Division I, II and III, and NAIA entrants.

A limited squad competed for the Flying Dutchmen at GVSU. Hope did not register a point.

Hope's next meet is Saturday, February 15 at the GVSU Tune-Up.
