Women's Tennis Edged By Denison In Matchup Of Nationally Ranked Teams

Claire Hallock, Amanda Bandrowski and Sydney Jackson all claimed singles victories for the Hope College women's tennis team during a 6-3 loss to nationally ranked Denison University (Ohio) on Saturday at DeWitt Tennis Center.

The Flying Dutch are now 2-2 on the season.

Hallock, a junior from Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center HS), defeated Lauren Hawley at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1.

Bandrowski, a junior from Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis), beat Emma Alsup at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-4.

Jackson, a freshman from Fort Wayne, Indiana (Carroll) downed Alex Cash at No. 3 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.

Denison is 30th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III poll. Hope is 39th.

Hope's next match is Tuesday, March 19 vs. the University of New Haven (Connecticut) in Orlando, Florida.
