Josh Izenbart Runner-Up In Two Events During First Day Of Emory Invitational

Hope College's Josh Izenbart posted two runner-up performances during the Emory College Invitational on Friday in Atlanta, Georgia.

The junior from Glenwood, Illinois (Homewood-Flossmoor) HS) finished second in the javelin with a toss of 48.81 meters and runner-up in the high jump by clearing 2.00 meters.

Hope is in seventh place out of 22 teams with 16.5 points. The two-day Emory Invitational resumes on Saturday, March 23 at 10 a.m.

The distance medley relay placed fifth. Sophomore Drew Schmitz of Westfield, Indiana (Westfield), freshman Bryan Yepez of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids), freshman Garrett Peck of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Skyline) and senior Ryan Holman of Holmen, Wisconsin (Holmen) clocked a time of 11:20.36.

In the high jump, sophomore Ethan Larson of Glen Ellyn, Illinois (Glenbard West) took sixth at 1.85 meters (6-0 ¾).

The 4x800 relay of Yepez, Peck, Holman and freshman Evan Bleitz of Milan, Michigan (Saline) placed seventh with a time of 8:49.85.
