Men's Golf Tied For First-Round Lead at MIAA Fall Finish

The Hope College men's golf team is tied for the lead after the first round of the 36-hole MIAA Fall Finish.

The Flying Dutchmen shot a team score of 300 on Friday at The Pohlcat Golf Course to share the top spot with Calvin University. Both teams finished 12 strokes ahead of third-place Adrian College.

The final round on Saturday, Oct. 16, is scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m.

After 90 holes, Hope remains in second place in the seasonal standings. The Flying Dutchmen trailed overall leader Calvin by five strokes after 90 holes.

The regular-season champion will host the final two rounds of next spring's NCAA Division III Championships qualifier. The second-place team will host the first round.

MIAA Seasonal Standings

On Friday, Will Robson, pictured, fired a 1-under-par 71 to lead the Flying Dutchmen. The sophomore from Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) finished second individually, one stroke off the leader.

Sophomore Logan DeWitt (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian) carded a 74 to tie for fourth place.

Junior Jack Crawford (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) shot a 77 to tie for 10th.

Junior Seth Almquist (Minneapolis, Minnesota / Wayzata) chipped in a 78. 

Freshman Jack Guerrera (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) finished with an 80.

Playing as an individual, freshman Ben Jackson (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll) had an 82.
