LIbero Maggie Wehrmeyer Chosen as MIAA Volleyball Speciality Player of the Week

Hope College libero Maggie Wehrmeyer has been chosen as the MIAA Women's Volleyball Specialty Athlete of the Week.

The sophomore from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) is being recognized by the MIAA for the first time.

Wehrmeyer set a school record for digs in a match last week while helping the Flying Dutch win both of their road matches, including a come-from-behind victory at No. 4 Calvin University in non-league play.

Wehrmeyer averaged 35.0 digs per match against Calvin and Albion College.

On Saturday, Wehrmeyer recorded a school-record 44 digs during a 25-21, 26-28, 19-25, 25-23, 15-12 victory at Calvin. She surpassed the old mark by eight.

On Wednesday, Wehrmeyer collected 36 digs during a 18-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 15-10 victory at Albion.

Wehrmeyer leads the MIAA at 6.0 digs per set.
