Volleyball to Start NCAA Championships in Wisconsin vs. Whitworth

The Hope College volleyball team is headed to Wisconsin this week for the NCAA Division III Championships.

The fifth-ranked Flying Dutch will open against Whitworth University in a first-round game on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. at the Eau Claire, Wisconsin Regional. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Led by head coach Becky Schmidt, Hope (23-4 overall) received an at-large berth to the NCAA Championship after winning the MIAA's regular-season championship.

This is the Flying Dutch's 17th appearance in the national tournament and 12th in 13 seasons. In 2019, Hope reached the regional finals. In 2014, the Flying Dutch won their first NCAA national championship.

The Eau Claire, Wisconsin regional's other first-round games are:

  • 12:30 p.m. Central, Northwestern-St. Paul (Minnesota) vs. Illinois Wesleyan
  • 5:30 p.m. Central, Gustavus-Adolphus (Minnesota) vs. Chicago
  • 8 p.m. Central, Wisconsin-Eau Claire vs. Greenville (Illinois)

Friday's semifinals are at 5:30 and 8 p.m. Central. If Hope advances, the Flying Dutch would play at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday's regional final is at 7 p.m. Central.
