McKenna Otto excels on the volleyball court as well as in the classroom at Hope College.
The senior middle blocker for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular season champion Flying Dutch has been selected as one of top student-athletes in the nation.
Otto (Wheaton, Ill. / Wheaton North) has been voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America® Team for NCAA Division III for the second consecutive season. The biomedical/bioelectrical engineering major is one of seven second-team selections.
Otto, pictured, joins teammate Tracy Westra and football's Daniel Romano as Hope's CoSIDA Academic All-Americans this fall. She is the 6th Flying Dutch volleyball student-athlete to achieve the distinction, and is receiving this honor for the second time in her career, the first time in the Spring 2021.

On the court, Otto recorded career-highs in total digs with 238, and tied her career-high service aces with 38, as well as having team-high stats of 3.21 kills per set and 3.9 points per set this season. Otto helped the Flying Dutch post a 25-5 overall record, including a 8-0 mark in MIAA play that earned the regular season league championship, while being selected to the All-MIAA First Team.
Off the court, Otto made the MIAA Academic Honor Roll in her freshman, sophomore, and junior years, as well as being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team in the spring of 2021.
