Tracy Westra Selected To CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team

The senior setter for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular season champion Flying Dutch has been selected as one of top student-athletes in the nation.

Westra (Clarendon Hills, Ill. / Timothy Christian) has been voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America® Team for NCAA Division III. The environmental engineering major is one of 7 first-team selections.

Westra, pictured, joins teammate McKenna Otto and football's Daniel Romano as Hope's CoSIDA Academic All-Americans this fall. She is the 7th Flying Dutch volleyball student-athlete to achieve the distinction.

This season on the court, Westra recorded career-highs in six stat categories including total digs with 259, assists per set with a team-high 10.66, digs per set with 2.33, and total assists with a team-high 1183.

Westra helped the Flying Dutch post a 25-5 overall record, including a 8-0 mark in MIAA play that earned the regular season league championship, while being named the MIAA MVP and as well as being selected to the All-MIAA First Team. 

Off the court, Westra made the MIAA Academic Honor Roll in her freshman, sophomore, and junior years.
