Four members of a Hope College men's relay are sharing the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor.
Seniors Drew Dow, David McHugh, and Nathan Trumble join junior Nathan Woolum in receiving the honor after clocking an eighth-time finish on Friday at the Grand Valley State University Holiday Open.
The Flying Dutchmen's 4x400 relay clocked a time of 3 minutes, 23.97 seconds that was the fastest among NCAA Division III entrants. Among 18 relays, there were two from Division II, eight from Division I, two from Division III, and six from NAIA.
McHugh (Whitehall, Michigan / Muskegon Reeths-Puffer HS) ran the relay's first leg. He is a biomedical/bioelectrical engineering major.
Dow (Bridgman, Michigan / Bridgman) followed McHugh. He is a business major.
Woolum (Mattawan, Michigan / Mattawan) raced the third leg. He is a business major.
Trumble (Granger, Indiana / Trinity School at Greenlawn) anchored the relay. He is a psychology major.
