Two Hope College runners have been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America Women's and Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-District® Teams for NCAA Division III.
Senior Hannah Kenny and junior Nick Hoffman advance to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in August.
Kenny, a Spanish and social work double major who graduated in May, is one of 12 Academic All-District® women's honorees from District 6, including schools from Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
During the outdoor season, Kenny qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in two events: the 1,500 meters and the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She earned All-MIAA honors and helped the Flying Dutch win a league title in the 4x400 relay and the team championship.
Kenny (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven HS) earned All-MIAA indoor honors as a member of the league champion 4x400 relay. The Flying Dutch were MIAA team champions.
Hoffman, a public accounting major, is one of 10 Academic All-District® men's women's honorees from District 6.
During the outdoor season, Hoffman recorded the highest men's 1,500-meter finish in Hope history with a third-place, All-American effort in May. He also earned MIAA Most Valuable Track Athlete honors after winning league championships in the 800 and 1,500.
Hoffman (Holland, Michigan / Holland HS) also claimed the MIAA Most Valuable Track Athlete honors after winning league titles in the 1-mile run and the 3,000 meters. He was runner-up in the 1-mile run at the Elite Indoor Championships.
