Runner Anders Bogard recorded two top-four performances to lead the Hope College men's indoor track track and field team at Aquinas College on Friday.
The Flying Dutchmen finished fifth out of nine teams in the split-squad meet with 58 teams. The event featured select teams from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association and the NAIA's Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.
Bogard (Mattawan Michigan, Kalamazoo Christian HS) clocked a second-place effort in the 3,000 meters of 9 minutes, 16.94 seconds. Teammate Ryan Allspach (Lansing, Michigan / Home School) was fourth at 9:30.83.
In the 1-mile run, Bogard placed fourth. The junior posted a time of 4:31.67.
Bogard also ran the third leg of a 4x400 relay that took fourth in 3:46.09. He ran with Aidan Jones (West Olive, Michigan / Black River), Lucas Guidone (Chicago, Illinois / Taft), and Allspach.
Junior Jackson Player (San Antonio, Texas / Winston Churchill) recorded a runner-up effort in the 60-meter hurdles final with a time of 8.67 seconds. Junior Ashish Duvvuru (Rochester, Michigan / Adams) was fifth at 9.96.
Player also was sixth in the high jump at 1.81 meters (5-11 ¼).
Junior Zach Elmore (Cadillac, Michigan / Cadillac) finished fourth in the pole vault by clearing 4.20 meters (13 feet, 9 ¼ inches).
Guidone ran to a sixth-place effort in the 800 meters of 2:04.98.
Sophomore Silas Peterson (Holland, Michigan / Zeeland West) took sixth in the 400 meters at 56.71 seconds.
Junior Lukas DeLibero (Novi, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) placed seventh in the 200 meters at 24.05 seconds.
Freshman Alex Daniels (Holland, Michigan / Holland) also scored, taking eighth in the 60 meters at 7.30 seconds.
