Women's Tennis Wins a Pair of Doubles Flights, Falls to Cornerstone

The Hope College women's tennis team fell to Cornerstone University, 7-2, on Friday at DeWitt Tennis Center.

The Flying Dutch claimed both of their points in doubles play.

At No. 2 doubles, senior Saydee Johns of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) and junior Taylor Truman of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville) won 8-7 (4) against Cornerstone's Sarah Daza and Renata Castillo.

At No. 3 doubles, sophomore Annika Weeber of Rockford, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian and junior Delanie Riebschleger of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford) claimed an 8-6 victory against Cornerstone's Valentina Garcia and Alayna Bowman.

Hope is now 2-1 on the season. 

The Flying Dutch's next match is Friday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m. at home against Oberlin College (Ohio).
