Hope College's Sara Kraus is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week.
The freshman from Rockford, Michigan (Rockford HS) is receiving the honor for the fourth time in her career.
Kraus helped the Flying Dutch repeat as MIAA champions last week at the Holland Aquatic Center
During the opening day of competition, Kraus swam the second leg in the victorious 800-yard freestyle relay that clocked an NCAA B cut time of 7 minutes, 36.58 Seconds.
Kraus earned her first-ever individual championship on Day 2 with an NCAA B-cut time of 2:04.04 in the 200 individual medley. She also was the lead off in the MIAA record-breaking 400 medley relay (NCAA B-cut - 3:46.85).
On Day 3, Kraus earned her second individual victory with an NCAA B-cut time of 56.15 in the 100 backstroke.
She set a new MIAA record in the 200 backstronk (NCAA B cut - 1:58.60) on the final day of championships.
After the meet, Kraus was named the MIAA's Most Valuable Women's Swimmer.
