The 16th-ranked Hope College women's swimming and diving team completed a perfect MIAA dual meet record with a 187-82 victory at Kalamazoo College on Saturday.
The Flying Dutch took first in 10 events en route to their fifth dual meet win against a league opponent.
In the backstroke, senior Emma Schaefer (DeWitt, Michigan / St. Johns HS) won the 100-yard event in 58.03 seconds. Junior Macey Meyer (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) took first in the 200-yard race in 2:12.61.
In the butterfly, junior Alyssa Kerkman (South Bend, Indiana / Saint Joseph) clocked a winning 100-yard time of 58.00 seconds; Hope swam unopposed.. Sophomore Rachel Gamm (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford) recorded a first-place swim in the 200-yard of 2:11.54..
Hope also swam unopposed in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
Sophomore Maddie Kievit (Grandville, Michigan / Grandville), pictured, clocked the Flying Dutch's fastest times in the 100 breaststroke at 1:09.31 and the 200 breaststroke at 2:32.56.
In the 100 freestyle, sophomore Maddy O'Donnell (Lincolnshire, Illinois / Stevenson) posted a winning swim of 55.75 seconds.
In the 200 individual medley, freshman Sara Kraus (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford) recorded a first-place swim of 2:10.88.
Hope also won the 200 medley relay in 1:44.67 (Kraus, Schaefer, Kerkman, and Madeline Tessin) and the 400 freestyle relay in 3:43.71 (Sydney Randall, Katie Weedon, Delaney Wesolek, and Kerkman).
The Flying Dutch's next meet is the MIAA Championships on Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 16-19, at Holland Aquatic Center.
