Nick Hoffman recorded two first-place times for the Hope College outdoor track and field team at the Emory University Invitational last weekend in Atlanta.
The senior from Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) won the 800 meters in 1 minutes, 52.65 seconds and the 1,500 meters in 3;54.82.
The Flying Dutchmen posted 17 Top-10 performances at the two-day meet.
Freshman Connor Vachon placed third in the 800 at 1:55.06 and seventh in the 1,500 at 3:58.89.
In the 3,000 meter steeplechase, junior Anders Bogard recorded a third-place effort of 9:54.02.
In the 5,000 meters, Luke Shoemaker took third with a run of 15:44.04.
In the 4x400 relay, senior David McHugh, senior Drew Dow, senior Nathan Woolum, and junior Eli Meder clocked a fourth-place time of 3:26.09.
In the 400 hurdles, McHugh placed fifth by posting a time of 57.42 seconds. Woolum was 10th at 58.19.
In the javelin, freshman Aidan Kyle recorded a fourth-place toss of 45.64 meters (162-10). Freshman Andrew Knieper was 10th at 41.53 (136-3).
In the high jump, junior Case VanderZee finished fifth with a leap of 1.75 meters (5-8 3/4).
In the pole vault, junior Zach Elmore placed sixth at 4.00 meters (13-1 1/2).
In the 110 hurdles, junior Jackson Player clocked a seventh-place time of 15.80.
In the hammer throw, junior Tyler Hicks recorded an eighth-place heave of 38.50 meters (126-4).
In the 400 meters, Woolum clocked a ninth-place time of 50.04 seconds.
In the triple jump, McHugh placed ninth at 12.52 meters (41-1).
In the discus, Knieper took 10th at 36.76 meters (120-7).
In the 4x100 relay, Hope's Alexander Daniels, Kyle, David McNiff, and Samuel Miller finished 10th in 44.29.
