Hope College freshman Aidan Kyle has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

This the first time Kyle has been honored.

Kyle (Weston, Connecticut / Weston HS) recorded a season-best javelin throw of 51.18 meters (167 feet, 11 inches) at the Emory University (Ga.) Open over the weekend. 

Kyle finished fourth out of 33 competitors. 

He also ran legs on the ninth-place 4x100 relay and the 17th-place 4x400 relay. 

Kyle finished 40th in the 400 meters with a time of 53.96 seconds.
