Hope College's Nick Hoffman is racing after a second All-America individual performance at the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The recent graduate is one of 20 qualifiers for the 1,500 meters at next week's meet at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The championships run from Thursday-Saturday, May 26-28.
Hoffman (Holland, Michigan / Holland HS) clocked the 11th-fastest time this spring with a run of 3 minutes, 47.31 seconds.
NCAA Men's Qualifying List
In 2021, Hoffman recorded the Flying Dutchmen's top 1,500-meter effort at nationals with a third-place finish of 3:47.74.
The two-time MIAA champions in the 1,500 meters is seeking to join Ryan TerLouw as Hope runners with multiple All-America performances in the 1,500 meters.
TerLouw accomplished the feat three times, finishing fourth in 2007, fifth in 2006, and seventh in 2005.
Hoffman is close to TerLouw's 2007 school record of 3:46.91.
In March, Hoffman earned All-America honors in the distance medley relay after helping the Flying Dutchmen place fourth.
