Hope College's Nick Hoffman finished 17th during preliminaries for the 1,500 meters on Thursday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
The recent graduate from Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) clocked a time of 3 minutes, 54.31 seconds during his heat.
The four top four runners in each 10-runner heat, as well as the next four fastest times, qualified for the finals on Saturday, May 28. Hoffman did not advance.

This was the second time Hoffman competed at outdoor nationals in the 1,500 meters. Hoffman finished third in 2021 and earned All-America honors.
In March, Hoffman claimed All-America distinction at indoor nationals as a member of the fourth-place distance medley relay.
