Three members of the Hope College softball team have been chosen for the 2022-23 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators: Peyton Benjamin, Cayley Ebeling and Grace Henry.

The CSC Academic All-America® program honors the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Tuesday, June 6, for softball. 

Benjamin (Eaton Rapids, Michigan / Eaton Rapids HS) is a psychology major and center fielder who earned All-MIAA honors for the first time this season as a first-team selection.

The junior batted a team-leading .333 this season, including .424 in MIAA games. Hitting leadoff, Benjamin scored 19 runs and recorded 14 RBIs.

Ebeling (Shelby Township, Michigan / Utica) is a chemistry major who played second base for the Flying Dutch.

The senior topped Hope with 22 RBIs and shared the team lead with nine doubles.

Henry (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) is a biology major who played shortstop for the Flying Dutch.

The junior batted .305 this season while totaling 19 runs scored and 18 RBIs.

The Division III CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions III Academic All-America® programs.
