Men's Swimmers Make Consolation Finals in Two Events at NCAA Championships

Four Hope College men's swimmers qualified for the finals in two events at tonight's NCAA Division III Championships in Greensboro, N.C., during Wednesday's preliminaries.

Senior Ben Catton (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian HS) will compete in the consolation final in the 50-yard freestyle and the 200 medley relay.

Juniors Colin Kalkman (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian) and Christian Dunaitis (Commerce Township / Detroit Catholic Central) will join Catton and freshman Graham Eisenmann (Ozark, Missouri / Ozark) in the 200 medley relay.

Tonight's finals start at 6 p.m. and can be watched on NCAA.com. The 50 freestyle is the fifth of nine events during the evening. The 200 medley relay is the eighth event.

In the 50 freestyle, Catton tied for 15th place during prelims and advanced to the 'B' final by clocking a swim of 20.22 seconds.

Catton swims in lane eight for tonight.

In the 200 medley relay, Hope finished 11th during prelims with a swim of 1:28.86. 

The Flying Dutchmen will race in lane three during the finals.
