Men's Swim Finishes 18th in the 800 Freestyle Relay at the NCAA Division III Championships

The Hope College men's 800-yard freestyle relay placed 18th during Day 3 of the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday in Greensboro, N.C.

Junior Colin Kalkman (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian HS), sophomore Henry Booker (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville), freshman Graham Eisenmann (Ozark, Missouri / Ozark) and freshman Christian Hoeksema (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) clocked a time of 6 minutes, 50.88 seconds.

The Flying Dutchmen are in 27th place out of 41 teams heading into the meet's final day.

On Saturday, March 23, prelims start at 10 a.m. and finals follow at 6 p.m. Hope will swim in three events: 100 freestyle with senior Ben Catton (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian), 200 backstroke with Kalkman and the 400 freestyle relay.

Hope competed in two other events on Friday.

In the 100 backstroke, Kalkman finished 30th in prelims with a time of 50.41 seconds.

In the 100 breaststroke, junior Christian Dunaitis (Commerce Township, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) placed 32nd with a swim of 55.85 seconds.
