Men's Track and Field Brett Showers '26

Men's Track and Field Wins Two Events at Windy City Invite

The Hope College men's track and field team turned in a strong third-place performance highlighted by event victories, podium finishes, and personal-best efforts on Saturday at the Windy City Rumble, hosted by the University of Chicago.

Freshman Maurice Streeter (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Central) led the Flying Dutchmen with a victory in the 60-meter dash, crossing the finish line in a personal-best 6.86 seconds. Streeter's time ranks No. 22 nationally in NCAA Division III. He also added a fourth-place finish in the 200 meters, clocking 22.82 seconds.


Freshman Luke Bellino (Brighton, Michigan / Brighton) also delivered a winning performance for Hope, capturing the 400 meters with a time of 50.15 seconds.


Hope totaled 98.75 points in the seven-team event. Chicago took first with 141 points, Milwaukee School of Engineering second with 114.75.


The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Brad Raredon (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville), Luke Bellino (Brighton, Michigan / Brighton), Logan Lipka (Frankenmuth, Michigan / Frankenmuth), and Lincoln Phillips (Dorr, Michigan / Hamilton) continued the strong showing on the track with a runner-up finish, posting a time of 3:27.75.


Sophomore Kevin Barifagok (Las Vegas, Nevada / Cristo Rey Saint Viator) added another podium performance for the Flying Dutchmen in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing second with a personal-best time of 8.40 seconds. His mark ranks No. 54 nationally in Division III.


Junior Vamsee Vemana (Canton, Michigan / Plymouth) recorded a third-place finish in the 200 meters, crossing the line in 22.72 seconds.


Freshman Carter Marquard (Shelbyville, Michigan / Wayland) turned in a third-place effort in the high jump, clearing a personal-best height of 1.92 meters (6-3.5).


Junior Tim Peterson (Portage, Michigan / Portage Northern) added a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.15.


In the mile, freshman Elijah Forbord (Howell, Michigan / Brighton) placed fourth with a personal-best time of 4:23.52, while sophomore Cooper Jacobsen (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Eastern) followed closely behind in fifth, also recording a personal-best at 4:23.58.


Senior Chad Perrine (Jackson, Michigan / Jackson) contributed a fifth-place finish in the 1,200 meters, crossing the line in 3:19.27.


Hope returns to action at the Mrs. G Invitational on Friday, Feb. 6, at 3 p.m. at Trine University.
