Women's Tennis Picked to Repeat as MIAA Champion

The nationally ranked Hope College women's tennis team is a unanimous favorite to repeat as league champion in the 2026 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Flying Dutch, led by two-time reigning MIAA MVP Amanda Lopykinski, received all eight possible first-place votes and finished with 64 points. Coaches could not vote for their own teams.

Hope finished ahead of second-place Kalamazoo College, which totaled 55 points and one first-place vote. Calvin University (49) finished third, followed by Saint Mary's College (42), Adrian College (32), Trine University (31), Alma College (21), Albion College (18) and the University of Olivet (8).

The Flying Dutch enter the spring season on a 22-match winning streak over three seasons, including six tournament victories that resulted in three MIAA Tournament crowns. Hope has earned a league-record 13 consecutive tournament titles.

Lopykinski (Lemont, Illinois / Lemont Township) anchors Hope's lineup. The senior neuroscience major posted a 7-1 record against MIAA opponents last season and earned All-MIAA honors for the third time.

Sophomore Hadley Krygier (White Lake, Michigan / Walled Lake Northern) returns after earning All-MIAA first-team distinction last season. She went 5-0 at No. 2 singles in league play in 2025.

Head coach Austin Hunt is back for his fifth season. He was named the 2025 MIAA Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

The 38th-ranked Flying Dutch return to the court Friday, Feb. 6, at 3:30 p.m. at No. 18 Case Western Reserve University (Ohio).
