Men's Lacrosse Draws Four USILA All-America Honorees

Four Hope College men's lacrosse standouts have received All-America accolades from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Coaches Association for the 2026 season.

Defender John Foster, attackman Gibson Heethuis, attackman Preston Hoexum, and midfielder Jackson Vasquez comprise the Flying Dutchmen's largest single-season group of All-America recipients.

Foster, a senior, and Heethuis, a junior, both made the third team, becoming the first players in Hope history to achieve distinction beyond honorable mention. Hoexum, a sophomore, and Vasquez, a freshman, received honorable mention status.

All four helped the Flying Dutchmen finish with a program-best 20-1 record, advance to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals for the first time, record an undefeated 18-game regular season, win the MIAA Tournament for the fifth time, and claim their third consecutive MIAA regular-season championship.

Foster ranked second on the team with 40 caused turnovers. The exercise science major from Ada, Michigan (Forest Hills Central High School), finished third with 72 ground balls while helping Hope's defense yield just 7.3 goals per game this season.

Heethuis led the Flying Dutchmen with 138 points, including a school-record 74 assists. The biology major from Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville High School), shared the team lead with 64 goals.

Hoexum also scored 64 goals. The Ada, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern High School), native collected 30 assists for 94 points, the second-highest total on the roster.

Vasquez led the Flying Dutchmen with 83 ground balls. The Lake Orion, Michigan (Lake Orion High School), native also contributed 20 goals, six assists, and 76 faceoff wins on 164 attempts.
