Jeff Zita's second-place effort in the 200 breaststroke highlighted the second and final day for the Hope College men's swimming & diving team at the five-team Wheaton (Illinois) Invitational on Saturday.
The junior from Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS), finished runner-up in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2 minutes, 6.58 seconds.
The Flying Dutchmen finished fifth with 407 points. They trailed Washington University in St. Louis (1,135.5), Wisconsin-Whitewater (647.5), Wisconsin-Stevens Point (640) and Wheaton (520).
Junior Duncan MacLean of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), came in fourth in the 1,650 freestyle at 16:38.17
Freshman Mike Wurster of Indianapolis, Indian (Brebeuf Jesuit Prep), took sixth in 100 backstroke at 54.53. Sophomore Christian Otteman of Zeeland, Michigan (Zeeland HS), was seventh at 55.0.
Otteman also placed seventh in the 400 IM at 4:18.96.
MacLean finished eighth in the 200 freestyle at 1:48.16.
Junior Nathan Rommel of Overland Park, Kansas (Blue Valley NW), took eighth in the 100 butterfly at 53.60.
