The Hope College men's swimming & diving came in second at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships on Saturday. 

The Flying Dutchmen finished with 669.5 points. Host Calvin College won with 795 points.

Freshman Zach Diener of Lake Orion (Lake Orion HS) claimed runner-up honors in the 100-yard freestyle by clocking a time of 46.19 seconds. Senior Andrew Larson of Jackson (Jackson HS) tied for fourth at 46.35.

Freshman Jean-Luc Miralda of Tegucigalpa, Honduras (American HS), placed second in 3-meter diving. He had a score of 474.8 points. Teammate Jordan Kalsbeek of Grand Rapids (Grandville HS) was sixth at 279.5.

Sophomore Duncan MacLean of Grand Rapids (East Grand Rapids HS) finished third in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 16:33.0.

Sophomore Jeff Zita of Holland (Holland Christian HS) took third in the 200 breaststroke with an effort of 2:03.68.

Hope placed third in the 400 freestyle relay. Diener, senior Jake Hunt of Muskegon (Mona Shores HS), junior William Greenlee of Northville (Northville HS) and Larson had a time of 3:05.5.

Hope came in third in the 400 freestyle relay. Diener, Hunt, Greenlee and Larson had a time of 3:29.00.

Sophomore Nathaniel Rommel of Overland Park, Kan. (Blue Valley NW), finished fifth in the 200 butterfly by swimming a time of 1:58.2. 

Freshman Christian Otteman of Zeeland (Zeeland East HS) placed sixth in the 200 backstroke by posting a time of 1:56.39. Freshman Danny Sullivan of Columbus, Ohio (Upper Arlington HS), took seventh at 1:58.37.
