The Hope College men's swimming & diving team recorded two seventh-place performances Friday at the Wheaton Invitational.
Senior Duncan MacLean, junior Christian Otteman of Zeeland, Michigan (Zeeland East HS), sophomore Charlie Emmert of Grand Blanc, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic HS) and junior Ryan Johnson of Milford, Michigan (International Academy) posted a 800-medley relay time of 7 minute, 3.90 seconds.
The Flying Dutchmen are fifth with 162 points. There are two sessions on Saturday: 10 a.m. Central and 5 p.m. Central.
Senior Trevor Billinghurst of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring lake HS), junior Jonathan Maat of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS), senior Samuel Gallmeyer of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) and Johnson went 1:25.49.
Otteman placed eighth in the 100 backstroke with a swim of 1:57.70.
Otteman also paired with Maat, Emmert and Johnson for an eighth-place, 400 medley relay performance of 3:35.17.
