Jean Luc Miralda swept his two diving events for the Hope College men's swimming & diving team during a 190-98 loss to 10th ranked Calvin on Saturday at the Dow Center.
The junior from Tegucigalpa, Honduras (Honduras American HS) finished first in 1-meter diving with a score of 263.90 points and 3-meter diving with a total of 297.40.
The Senior Day loss dropped Hope to 1-2 in dual meets this season.
Junior Christian Otteman of Zeeland, Michigan (Zeeland East HS) was runner-up in three events.
Otteman clocked a second-place 100 backstroke effort of 54.68 seconds. He also was second in the 200 backstroke at 2:02.56 and the 200 individual medley at 2:03.67.
Senior Duncan MacLean of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids) took second in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:19.57 and the 500 freestyle with a swim of 5:01.25.
Junior Trevor Wagoner of Hixson, Tennessee (McCalle HS) placed runner-up in the 200 breaststroke at 2:23.05.
Senior Trevor Billinghurst of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake HS) came in second in the 100 butterfly. He had a time of 56.74.
Billinghurst, senior Samuel Gallmeyer of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), senior Taylor Hatfield of Coloma, Michigan (St. Joseph HS) and junior Jonathon Maat of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) finished runner-up in the 400 freestyle with an effort of 3:16.11.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 13 when it hosts the four-team Michigan-Illinois Quad at the Holland Community Aquatic Center.
