Kevin Franz placed sixth in 3-meter diving to lead the Hope College men's swimming & diving team at the 11-team University of Chicago Phoenix Fall Classic this weekend.

The senior from Mundelein, Illinois (Mundelein HS) recorded a score of 404.55 points during competition on Saturday. He is pictured at right.

The Flying Dutchmen's 800-yard freestyle relay of sophomore Daniel Clyde of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Huron), senior Mike Wurster of Indianapolis, Indiana (Brebeuf Jesuit), senior Charlie Emmert of Grand Blanc, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic) and junior Jeff Engle of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Home School) came in 10th with a time of 7 minutes, 27.03 seconds.

Hope's 200 freestyle relay of Clyde, Emmert, Wurster and senior Joseph Watson of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central) was 15th at 1:32.15 on Friday.
