Mike Wurster and Daniel Clyde both recorded third-place efforts for the Hope College men's swimming & diving team on Friday at the five-team Wheaton, Illinois Invitational.
Wurster, a senior from Indianapolis, Indiana (Brebeuf Jesuit), pictured, at right, clocked a 200-yard backstroke swim of 1 minute, 54.27 seconds.
Clyde, a sophomore from Ann Arbor, Michigan (Huron), pictured at left, went 1:56.61 in the 200 individual medley. Wurster was sixth at 1:59.93.
Senior Charlie Emmert of Grand Blanc, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic) placed fourth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:55.30.
Wurster, Emmert and Clyde teamed with junior Jeff Engle of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Home School) for a fourth-place 800 freestyle relay of 7:10.26.
The Flying Dutchmen are fourth with 182 points.
