Hope College's Jean Luc Miralda finished 17th in the nation in 1-meter diving at the NCAA Division III Championship on Thursday in Woodlands, Texas.

The senior from Tegucigalpa, Honduras (American HS) posted a score of 403.40 points.

Miralda topped Kendall Holliman of Claremont-Mudd Scripps for 17th place. Holliman had 402.80 points.

This is Miralda's first appearance at a NCAA championship meet.

Miralda will compete on Saturday in 3-meter diving.
