Hope College's Brian Simonich placed in the top eight in 1-meter diving at the NCAA Division III regional meet Friday at the University of Chicago.

The junior from Highland, Michigan (Milford HS) recorded a score of 413.85 points. He was among 27 divers competing in the event.

On Saturday, Simonich finished 17th out of 24 divers in the 3-meter diving.

He had a score of 377.50 points.
