Conner Halberg is the MIAA Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week

Hope College's Conner Halberg has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week.

The freshman from Novi, Michigan (Northville HS) is receiving this honor for the first time in his career.

Halberg took fifth place in the 500-yard freestyle race with a time of 4:39.34 at the D3 Shootout hosted this weekend at the University of Chicago.

At the two-day meet, Halberg also placed sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.03) and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (47.40).

Halberg also competed in two relays for the Flying Dutchmen, the 500-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
