Goalie Ian Bosman and the Hope College men's lacrosse team gave up the first two goals of the game at Calvin University, then said no more.
Bosman, pictured right, and the Flying Dutchmen clinched an outright MIAA championship with a dominant defensive performance.
Hope won, 12-2, on Friday after shutting out the Knights over the final 49 1/2 minutes. The Flying Dutchmen (14-2 overall) finished MIAA play with a 6-0 league record.
After earning the top seed in the MIAA Tournament, Hope will host a semifinal on Wednesday, May 4, at a time to be announced.
The two goals allowed to Calvin were a season-best for the Flying Dutchmen.
Calvin jumped to a 2-0 lead by registering unassisted goals from Thomas Smith 2:14 into the game and Chase Sparling 2:20 left. The Knights would not score again any of their final 24 shots.
Bosman (Centennial, Colorado / Cherry Creek HS) recorded nine of his 10 saves after Sparling's goal, including five during the third quarter.
Offensively, Jack Radzville went on the attack for the Flying Dutchmen.
The senior from Howell, Michigan (Howell), pictured, scored a career-high seven goals and came within one goal of matching the school record for a single game.
In the second quarter, Radzville netted both goals to give the Flying Dutchmen a 4-2 halftime lead.
Radzville became the first two-time 50-goal scorer in Hope history with 52 this season after 56 last season.
Radzville set up two other goals, giving him 101 assists for his career and allowing him to join Gunnar Elder (2014-17) with 100 career assists. Elder holds the Flying Dutchmen record with 105.
Sophomore Michael Mann (Plymouth, Michigan / Detroit Jesuit) chipped in three goals and two assists.
