Men's Swim/Dive Ranked in Top 20 Nationally in Six Events

The Hope College men's swimming and diving team sits with the nation's elite in six different events.

The Flying Dutchmen — No. 17 in the latest College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III national poll — are ranked in the top 20 in two individual events and four relays.

Junior Ben Catton is 15th in the 50-yard butterfly after clocking a time of 22.37 seconds.

The business and economics major from Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) is also 16th in the 100 butterfly at 48.38 seconds.

Hope is ranked 13th in both the 400 freestyle relay at 3:03.04 and the 400 medley relay 3:20.32.

The Flying Dutch are 16th in both the 200 medley relay at 1:30.82 and the 800 freestyle relay at 6:53.47.

The Flying Dutchmen return to competition on Friday, Jan. 20, at 6 p.m. when they host Kalamazoo College and Olivet College for an MIAA meet at Holland Aquatic Center.
